Product Placement – Some Good, Some Not

A few months ago I listened to the How Stuff Works podcast on product placement.  If you’ve never listened to this podcast series, you really should.  The back and forth banter reminds me of Drew Remenda and Randy Hanh, the sportscasters for the San Jose Sharks games.  Product placement, when done appropriately, is amazingly effective, I believe that it is more effective than commercials, as the subtlety adds a nice dimension to the ad.  A lot of people are turned off by commercials.  TV commercials are getting louder so that you can still hear them aired when you walk away to grab...

Good News Updates

The past few days have been very nice to us!  Some long-backordered product is on it’s way here, arriving in 3 weeks or so.  Our outdoor speakers were much more popular than expected, which was a nice surprise.  But, we ran out too soon!  While good news (selling product is always good!), it’s also causing problems.  While out of stock, our product is no longer listed at retailers.  It’s pretty hard to grow our brand when products aren’t listed! Mutant – Not a Bargain

You read correctly — Mutant is not a bargain.  Bargain to me is when you find something that is usually fairly cheap on sale for a good percentage off.  Here’s a good example of bargains (P.S., we are not affiliated with this site, but are a fan of it!).  Bargain hunters are those that want the cheaply made, cheap to buy $6 headphones at $4.  There is nothing wrong with this, in fact, it’s how I do my grocery shopping.  However, Mutant is not a cheap product.  We are not trying to be the cheapest in the market.  That side of the market is covered by endless...
